HSBC Tokenized Deposit Service fund
Overview
HSBC Tokenized Deposit Service converts corporate clients' bank deposits into blockchain-based tokens on a 1:1 basis, enabling near-instant, 24/7 wallet-to-wallet settlement. It runs on HSBC's own permissioned (private) blockchain — separate from HSBC Orion, which is HSBC's platform for tokenized bonds — and supports multiple currencies (including HKD, USD, GBP, EUR and SGD) across markets such as Hong Kong, the UK, Singapore, Luxembourg and the UAE. HSBC launched Hong Kong's first bank-led blockchain deposit settlement service in May 2025 on the HKMA-backed Ensemble network.
