Overview

Firedancer is an independent Solana validator client written from scratch by Jump Crypto to increase the network's throughput and client diversity. Its hybrid intermediate release, Frankendancer — which pairs Firedancer's networking and block-production components with the existing Agave runtime — went live on Solana mainnet in September 2024, while the full Firedancer client remained on testnet. The complete Firedancer client did not reach mainnet until December 2025, announced at Solana's Breakpoint conference.
