Overview

On 11 October 2022, Avraham Eisenberg drained roughly $114 million from Mango Markets, a Solana-based DeFi trading platform, by using two accounts he controlled to trade MNGO perpetual futures against each other and pump the token's oracle price by orders of magnitude, then borrowing against the inflated collateral. Eisenberg publicly identified himself and returned about $67 million via a governance proposal, keeping roughly $47 million. The SEC and CFTC charged him in January 2023, and a jury convicted him of fraud and manipulation in April 2024 — convictions that US District Judge Arun Subramanian vacated on 23 May 2025, granting his motion for acquittal.
