Overview

Project Inthanon-LionRock was a joint proof-of-concept initiative between the Bank of Thailand and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority to explore the use of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) for cross-border payments. It built a distributed ledger technology (DLT) prototype enabling real-time interbank transfers between the two jurisdictions. The project concluded with findings that informed the subsequent multilateral mBridge project.
