Overview
Orbit Bridge is a cross-chain bridge protocol that facilitates asset transfers between multiple blockchain networks. It operates using a decentralized validator network with multi-signature security. The protocol was developed by the Orbit Chain team (Ozys). On January 1, 2024, Orbit Bridge was exploited for approximately $81.5 million — the first major crypto hack of 2024 — after attackers compromised seven of its ten multi-signature validator signers and drained the Ethereum vault of stablecoins (USDT, USDC, DAI), WBTC and ETH.
