Serum protocol
Overview
Serum (formerly Project Serum) was a decentralized exchange (DEX) protocol on the Solana blockchain that used a fully on-chain central limit order book (CLOB) model for spot trading, designed for low-latency, high-throughput trading with shared liquidity. Serum has been defunct since November 2022: after the collapse of FTX and Alameda (which held the program's upgrade authority), the team declared the project defunct and the community hard-forked its code into OpenBook.
Within the DeFi Intel graph, Serum connects to 3 tracked entities, most strongly to Solana, OpenBook, FTX Collapse.
