Prediction markets have bred a new class of insider trader. A Bloomberg review flagged at least 34,000 Polymarket trades between August 2025 and June 2026 as potential insider activity, and prosecutors charged US soldier Gannon Ken Van Dyke with using classified intelligence to win over $400,000 betting on Nicolas Maduro's capture.
