FDA Walks Back Positive Lab Test While Lettuce Recall Continues
The FDA said a Taylor Farms lettuce sample that had tested positive for cyclospora was a false positive, but stressed it "does not change the basis" for the outbreak investigation, which still points to shredded iceberg lettuce from the company's central Mexico operations. Taylor Farms has indefinitely pulled that lettuce, with over 1,600 CDC-confirmed cases across 34 states and no deaths.
