New York City Rush Hour Threatened by Heavy Rain, Flooding
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx on the evening of July 21, 2026, with 1-2 inches of rain threatening highways, streets and underpasses, and kept all five boroughs under a tornado watch until 9pm. Flooding delayed traffic on the Major Deegan Expressway and a downed tree closed northbound lanes of the Henry Hudson Parkway.
