GEOPOLITICS | Australian Territory Backs A$40 Billion Data Center Project
The Northern Territory government granted Beetaloo Energy's subsidiary Beetaloo Digital exclusive rights over 185 hectares at Weddell, about 30km from Darwin, for a proposed A$40 billion hyperscale data centre. It would run on up to 2GW of on-site generation fuelled by fracked Beetaloo Basin gas, drawing environmental opposition.
