Tether’s USDT market cap falls by $5B in 60 days, raising liquidity questions across crypto

Tether's USDT market cap fell by roughly $5.4 billion over 60 days, from a May 2026 peak near $190 billion to about $184 billion in late July. The broader stablecoin market contracted by $10 billion since May, with a $7.7 billion decline in June alone. Tether posted a Q1 2026 profit of $1.04 billion and holds an $8.23 billion reserve buffer.
