Mexico Says 3 Million Foreign Tourists Visited During World Cup
Mexico said about 3 million foreign visitors came to its three World Cup host cities - Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey - during the June 11 to July 19 tournament. The tourism ministry put the economic impact at roughly $2.1 billion, below pre-tournament forecasts of around 5.5 million visitors.
