Overview

Ink is Kraken's dedicated DeFi blockchain, built and launched by the Kraken cryptocurrency exchange. It is part of the Superchain ecosystem and built on the OP Stack, Optimism's open-source rollup framework, which makes it an Optimism-based layer-2 sharing standards and interoperability with other Superchain members. Its mainnet is live. The chain's purpose is to give Kraken a native venue for DeFi activity — deploying smart contracts, running decentralised applications and connecting exchange users to onchain finance — and its documentation provides testnet faucets, wallet connection guides and deployment tutorials for builders. Ink's documentation also references an INK token.

Within the DeFi Intel graph, Ink connects to 23 tracked entities, most strongly to Ethereum, USD Coin, Tether USD.
