Overview
Circle is a financial technology company and, since the Centre Consortium was dissolved in 2023, the sole issuer of the USD Coin (USDC) stablecoin. It provides blockchain-based payment and financial infrastructure, is regulated as a money transmitter in multiple US states, and operates under oversight from authorities such as the New York State Department of Financial Services.
