Overview
Strategy Inc. is the US-listed company formerly known as MicroStrategy, which renamed itself in early 2025 after pivoting from enterprise analytics software to a bitcoin treasury model. Under executive chairman Michael Saylor it began buying bitcoin in 2020 as a treasury reserve asset and has since become the largest publicly traded corporate holder of BTC, funding purchases through equity issuance, preferred stock and convertible notes. Its holdings run into the hundreds of thousands of bitcoin. In 2026 it sold bitcoin for the first time since 2022 and said it would suspend further purchases pending conditions tied to its STRC preferred.
