Mango Markets exchange
Overview
Mango Markets was a decentralised digital asset exchange offering trading in swap contracts on assets including its own MNGO token. In October 2022 trader Avraham Eisenberg manipulated it by opening large leveraged positions in MNGO/USDC perpetual swaps from anonymous accounts, then buying MNGO on the three exchanges feeding Mango's price oracle, driving the oracle price up more than thirteen-fold in about thirty minutes and allowing him to borrow against the inflated collateral. He took more than $110 million in digital assets, later returning roughly $67 million and keeping about $47 million. The CFTC brought what it described as its first enforcement action for oracle manipulation on a decentralised exchange.
