Overview
Founders Fund is the San Francisco venture capital firm associated with Peter Thiel, best known for early backing of Palantir and SpaceX. In 2022 it raised an eighth flagship fund and a second growth fund representing over $5 billion of new capital, taking aggregate capital under management above $11 billion; more recent data puts assets under management above $12 billion. Founders Fund raised over $5 billion across its eighth flagship and second growth funds in 2022, bringing AUM above $11 billion (now reported above $12 billion). In 2025 it expanded into crypto treasury equities, taking a 9.1% stake in BitMine (reported July 2025) and 5.6% of ETHZilla as of 30 September 2025, alongside venture rounds such as Lighter's $68 million raise.
