Overview
Pendle is a decentralised yield-trading protocol that tokenizes yield-bearing assets by splitting them into a Principal Token (PT), representing the underlying principal redeemable at maturity, and a Yield Token (YT), representing the future yield stream. Because PT and YT trade separately, users can lock in a fixed yield, take leveraged long exposure to a variable yield, or provide liquidity, without lockups. Pendle's V2 AMM is purpose-built for assets that decay toward maturity, which the protocol says reduces slippage and improves capital efficiency for time-dependent yield products. Pendle operates across many networks, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain, Base, Berachain, Sonic, Monad and HyperEVM, and has extended into off-chain rate trading with a product called Boros.
