Chainlink Staking v0.2 is the second version of Chainlink's staking platform, in which participants lock LINK to help secure oracle services and earn rewards. It launched with a 45 million LINK capacity split into 40.875 million LINK for community stakers and 4.125 million LINK for node operators, rolling out in three phases: priority migration for existing v0.1 stakers on 28 November 2023, early access on 7 December 2023 and general access on 11 December 2023. Its features include dynamic rewards that vary with protocol utilisation above a 4.5% base rate, a 28-day unbonding period followed by a 7-day claim window, a 90-day ramp-up for new stakers, and slashing for underperforming node operators, from which community stakers are exempt.
