Overview

Passport is an air-gapped, Bitcoin-only hardware wallet made by Foundation Devices, a US company founded in 2020 that builds open-source Bitcoin hardware. The device communicates with companion software via QR codes and a microSD card rather than data over USB — the USB-C port is used for charging — which keeps signing fully offline. Its firmware is open source and reproducibly verifiable. Foundation has since introduced Passport Prime, which adds FIDO security-key, 2FA and password-vault functionality alongside Bitcoin signing.
