Curve Finance protocol
Overview
Curve Finance is a DeFi ecosystem built around three pillars documented in its own knowledge hub: the Curve DEX, where users swap assets and provide liquidity; Llamalend, its borrowing and lending protocol; and governance, run through the CRV token. Governance uses a vote-escrow model — CRV is locked to mint veCRV, which carries the voting rights that determine protocol decisions and the direction of incentives — a mechanism Curve popularised and that many other DeFi protocols subsequently copied. The project's documentation is deliberately segmented for three audiences: users trading and providing liquidity, developers building integrations against its APIs, and other protocols integrating with the ecosystem, reflecting Curve's role as base infrastructure that other DeFi applications route through rather than a purely consumer-facing exchange.
