Overview

ether.fi is a non-custodial liquid staking and restaking protocol for Ethereum, founded in 2022 by Mike Silagadze and Rok Kopp. Its core design lets stakers retain control of their validator keys while delegating validator operations to node-operator clusters, which use distributed validator technology. Depositors receive eETH, a rebasing liquid staking token launched on 15 November 2023 that represents a 1:1 claim on staked ETH, with weETH available as the non-rebasing wrapped version used across DeFi. Pooled ETH is also restaked on EigenLayer, so holders accrue both staking and restaking rewards without manual action; the protocol's governance token is ETHFI.
