Overview

Interchain Token Transfer (ICTT) is an open-source set of smart contracts from Ava Labs for moving ERC-20 and native tokens between Avalanche Layer 1 chains. It works by pairing a TokenHome contract on the token's originating chain, which locks or holds the assets, with TokenRemote contracts on destination chains that mint representations; the contracts communicate using Avalanche Interchain Messaging (ICM), the protocol formerly known as Avalanche Warp Messaging. Because the contracts are pre-built, audited and permissionless to deploy, teams can add cross-chain token transfer without writing a bespoke bridge.
