Overview

Polygon ID is a zero-knowledge identity protocol developed by the Polygon team. It enables users to own and manage their digital identities with privacy-preserving verifiable credentials using zk-proofs. The protocol is used for decentralized identity verification, selective disclosure of attributes, and building trust in web3 applications. In June 2024 Polygon ID spun out from Polygon Labs and rebranded to Privado ID, continuing as an independent, protocol-agnostic identity solution (as of 2026-07-15).
