Overview
Virtuals Protocol is an onchain platform for creating, funding and monetising autonomous AI agents, which its own whitepaper describes as 'a society of AI agents' provided with identity, capital, jobs, markets, governance and increasingly physical bodies. It is built around several layers: EconomyOS, which gives each agent an onchain identity, a non-custodial wallet, a payment card, an email address and compute access; the Agent Commerce Protocol (ACP), a commerce layer for secure, transparent and verifiable transactions between autonomous agents with immutable onchain records; a modular agent tokenisation platform offering anti-sniper protection, automated capital formation and 60-day trial launches paired with $VIRTUAL liquidity; and a robotics arm, Eastworlds, providing hardware for embodied agents. The $VIRTUAL token is the ecosystem's base liquidity asset: new agent tokens launch on a bonding curve paired against $VIRTUAL and, once they reach the 42,000 $VIRTUAL graduation threshold, automatically migrate to a Uniswap V2 pool with LP locks carrying ten-year underwriting commitments. Virtuals began as a launchpad for tokenised AI agents and has since broadened into agent infrastructure - adding the Agent Commerce Protocol for agent-to-agent transactions, EconomyOS identity and banking primitives, and the Eastworlds robotics initiative for embodied agents.
