Overview
HYPE is the native token of Hyperliquid, a layer-1 blockchain built for a fully onchain financial system. Hyperliquid has two components: HyperCore, which runs fully onchain perpetual futures and spot order books with single-block finality and throughput on the order of hundreds of thousands of orders per second, and HyperEVM, a general-purpose smart contract environment that exposes HyperCore's trading primitives to developers. The chain uses HyperBFT, a custom consensus algorithm inspired by HotStuff, with networking optimised specifically for this workload.
