Overview
JUP is the native token of Jupiter, the dominant decentralised exchange aggregator on Solana, which routes token swaps for low slippage and minimal fees and also offers limit orders, perpetual futures trading and dollar-cost averaging. The token launched on 31 January 2024 in one of the largest airdrops in crypto history, distributing roughly $700 million of JUP to nearly a million wallets. Total supply is 10 billion, split evenly between team and community allocations, with an initial circulating supply of 1.35 billion; the launch airdrop was 1 billion JUP, or 10% of supply. JUP opened around $0.41 and traded up to $0.72, briefly pushing its fully diluted valuation above $6 billion. Jupiter has continued annual 'Jupuary' distributions: on 22 January 2025 it distributed 700 million JUP worth about $616 million to roughly 2 million eligible wallets. Jupiter launched JUP on 31 January 2024 with a ~$700 million airdrop to close to a million wallets. It repeated the exercise in January 2025 with a 700 million JUP 'Jupuary' airdrop valued around $616 million reaching about 2 million wallets.
