Overview
The Wintermute pool on Clearpool is a single-borrower lending pool through which lenders supply capital directly to Wintermute, an institutional crypto market maker. Clearpool is a decentralized credit marketplace where whitelisted institutional borrowers open unsecured onchain credit lines; lending into a permissionless (Dynamic) pool requires only a web3 connection, and interest rates adjust automatically with pool utilization. Wintermute was one of the launch borrowers when Clearpool's mainnet went live on Ethereum on 23 March, alongside Amber Group and Folkvang. Because the loans are unsecured, lenders take direct credit risk on the borrowing institution.
