Overview

Mantle Network is an EVM-compatible Ethereum layer-2 built as a ZK validity rollup, meaning state transitions are proved with zero-knowledge validity proofs verified on Ethereum rather than being subject to an optimistic challenge period. Its design is explicitly modular: execution, data availability, proof generation and settlement are separated so each can be optimised independently, and it uses modular data-availability solutions including EigenDA, which Mantle says can cut costs by more than 90% versus posting data on L1. The network is governed by holders of the MNT token, who vote on proposals covering treasury management and strategic direction. Around the chain sits a broader Mantle ecosystem: the mETH Protocol for liquid ETH staking and restaking, an Ignition fBTC wrapped-Bitcoin product integrating with Babylon and Solv, and stablecoin partnerships including Ethena's USDe, Agora's AUSD and Ondo's USDY. Ecosystem funding runs through a $200 million EcoFund, Mirana Ventures and a partnership with the Bybit exchange. Mantle has moved from its original optimistic-rollup design to a ZK validity rollup, with the current generation documented as Mantle v2 'Arsia'. Ecosystem capital is deployed through the $200 million EcoFund and Mirana Ventures.
