BitPay is one of the longest-running bitcoin payment processors, founded in May 2011 by Tony Gallippi and Stephen Pair and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It provides payment processing that lets merchants accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies while settling in the currency of their choice, and has expanded into consumer products including a wallet and card. Stephen Pair is CEO and Tony Gallippi is co-founder, having also served as executive chairman. BitPay's early growth came from mainstream merchant integrations: in 2014 it announced partnerships with Microsoft, NewEgg, TigerDirect and Warner Bros. Records, which were among the highest-profile corporate bitcoin acceptance deals of that era.
