Overview

Maple Finance is an on-chain institutional capital-markets and asset-management protocol on Ethereum and Solana. It uses a pool-based model where its in-house credit arm (Maple Direct) underwrites borrowers, and lenders deposit into these pools to earn yield. Following borrower defaults in 2022, Maple pivoted away from undercollateralized lending to a fully secured, overcollateralized model; its permissionless Syrup product (launched 2024) opens the lender side to non-KYC participants while borrowers remain institutionally vetted.

Within the DeFi Intel graph, Maple Finance connects to 12 tracked entities, most strongly to Clearpool, Maple syrupUSDC, SYRUP.
