Overview
Metaco is a Swiss digital asset custody technology provider, founded in 2015 and led by founder and CEO Adrien Treccani. Its flagship product, Harmonize, is institutional infrastructure for digital asset custody and tokenisation, used by global custodians, tier-one banks, financial institutions and corporates, with deployments across Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, France, the UK, the US, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong and the Philippines. Metaco is no longer independent: on 17 May 2023 Ripple announced it had acquired Metaco for $250 million, becoming its sole shareholder. Under the deal Metaco continued to operate as an independent brand and business unit led by Treccani, while giving Ripple the technology to custody, issue and settle tokenised assets and diversify its enterprise offering beyond payments. Founded in Switzerland in 2015. Acquired by Ripple for $250 million, announced 17 May 2023, with Ripple becoming sole shareholder while Metaco continued as a separate brand and business unit under founder Adrien Treccani.
