David Sacks is a South African-American technology entrepreneur and investor, born 25 May 1972, who was PayPal's first product leader and later its chief operating officer before eBay acquired the company in 2002. He founded Yammer, sold to Microsoft in 2012, and in 2017 founded the venture firm Craft Ventures. In December 2024 President Donald Trump appointed him White House AI and crypto czar and co-chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, a special government employee role he held until stepping down in March 2026.
