1inch Fusion protocol
Overview
1inch Fusion is a swap mode within the 1inch Network that was launched in December 2022. Rather than executing a user's trade directly against DEX liquidity, Fusion turns the order into an intent that is filled by professional resolvers competing in a Dutch auction, which lets the protocol offer gasless and front-running-resistant swaps: the resolver pays the gas and the price decays over time until someone fills it. It is built by the same team behind the 1inch aggregation and Limit Order protocols, founded by Sergej Kunz and Anton Bukov in May 2019 under Degensoft Ltd. Fusion sits alongside the classic aggregation router, which splits orders across many DEXs for best price. The mechanism underpins 1inch's later cross-chain swap capability, enabled in August 2025. Fusion shipped in December 2022 as 1inch's intent-based, MEV-resistant swap mode. 1inch subsequently extended to Solana in April 2025 and turned on cross-chain swaps in August 2025.
