Overview

Aave V4 is the next major architecture of the Aave protocol, built around a hub-and-spoke design. A central Liquidity Hub holds the master ledger of deposits and debt, enforces protocol-wide risk limits and extends credit lines to Spokes, while each Spoke is a specialised market with its own risk profile that draws on shared liquidity instead of bootstrapping a separate pool. The stated aim is to reduce liquidity fragmentation while allowing more granular risk isolation for cases such as real-world assets and institutional lending. V4 launched on Ethereum mainnet in 2026 and runs alongside Aave V3 rather than replacing it outright.

Within the DeFi Intel graph, Aave v4 connects to 11 tracked entities, most strongly to Certora, Aave Labs, Aave V4 Liquidity Hub.
