Overview
Aragon OSx is Aragon's smart-contract framework for building onchain organisations — described in its documentation as 'accounts that can hold assets, execute actions, install plugins, and manage permissions'. Rather than shipping one fixed DAO template, OSx is modular: an organisation is assembled from a core contract plus plugins and a permission set. Permissions are the central control primitive, defining which accounts, contracts or plugins may perform specific actions on behalf of the organisation. Plugins are permissioned contracts that add capabilities such as governance, membership, execution workflows and integrations, and the documentation explicitly advises keeping each plugin 'narrow and auditable' so features can be combined without any one component gaining excessive control. Aragon ships first-party governance plugins including token voting, multisig and admin, plus developer tooling (a UI Kit, app templates and deployment infrastructure). The published documentation does not state a launch date or an authoritative list of supported chains, so those are not asserted here.
