Overview

Boba Network is an Ethereum layer-2 scaling network built on the optimistic rollup model and maintained by Enya Labs (the site carries an '© 2026 Enya Labs' notice). Its distinguishing feature is HybridCompute, which lets smart contracts call off-chain APIs and computation as part of a transaction, so developers can bring external data or heavy computation into onchain logic; the network also supports account abstraction. Boba markets fees up to 100x cheaper than Ethereum mainnet along with higher transaction throughput. The native BOBA token is used to pay for HybridCompute, for governance, for ecosystem growth programmes and for rewards, and the chain runs a dual fee-token system letting users pay gas in BOBA or in the network's native currency. Network statistics shown on boba.network as of July 2026 were 72.39 million total transactions, 200.43K cumulative unique addresses and 9.50K deployed smart contracts — modest relative to leading L2s. Boba grew out of the OMG Foundation/Enya Labs orbit and has been positioned since launch around off-chain compute rather than raw throughput.
